GOOD NEWS!! GOOD NEWS!! GOOD NEWS!!
San Juan Christian Singles and the Singles Group from World Harvest Center are joining forces and have planned the following activities for the remainder of 2009. These activities are open to singles of all ages, whether they belong to a church or not. We want to offer activities for the singles in the Four Corners area. Please help us spread the word to your friends, co-workers and fellow church members!!
October 24th — Meet and Greet Potluck at World Harvest Center's Fellowship Hall (1024 N. Butler) at 6:00 p.m. Bring your favorite dish to share and plan to spend some time meeting and greeting (both new and return members.) This would be an excellent time to invite your friends to join you. We plan on using some hilarious ways of letting you get to know the other singles in the group - After all, Christian Singles CAN have fun and laugh the night away!!! We will hopefully be doubling or tripling in size with the two groups going together, plus NEW SINGLES JOINING US!!! Please plan to attend and get involved, even if you haven't been involved for quite some time!! Karen at 486-6438 or Angel at 608-4510.
November 6 — BOWLING at Bowlero Lanes. Meet at 5:30 for bowling, then we will go eat afterwards. (Alternative plans if lanes are unavailable will be a movie — so come prepared with your ideas.) — Karen at 486-6438 or Angel at 608-4510.
November 21 — Singles Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner (potluck) at World Harvest, 6:00 p.m. Bring enough food for your yourself plus at about 10-15 others (turkey will be provided). We have a volunteer who will go pick up individuals that may not have a Thanksgiving dinner otherwise (aka homeless) and bring them for dinner and conversation that evening. Plan to come prepared to not only enjoy a great meal, but also have God touch your heart as you minister to the homeless just by visiting with them. Angel at 608-4510.
December 11 — 6:00 pm -- Christmas Party. We will meet at FBC Farmington at 6:00 pm Bring your favorite potluck dish, a gift to exchange with another single (either under $10.00 in price or something homemade) and your voice to go out and sing to those in a nursing home. Last year we went to San Juan Manor and were blessed by how we were received and how much they enjoyed the conversation and attention.
December 31 — SINGLES TO ROLL IN THE NEW YEAR. Tentatively have scheduled Roller Skating. Stay tuned for details!!
Also, if you want to put something on it where they can request to get on our email list, that would be fine with me. THANKS!!!
We will be sending emails periodically when we find things that sound "fun or interesting" to do. Please feel free to participate in as many activities as you want. We want to make sure that we offer activities for the various age groups and we recognize that with only two planned 2 activities per month may or may not be "enough" for your liking. If YOU hear of something fun that you would like to do, please send us an email and we'll pass it on to the group, and put your phone number down as the contact. There isn't any reason why we can't do impromptu activities!
If you know of someone who would like to receive emails, please send me an email with their info and I'll add them. Thank you!!!
Respectfully,
Karen Ray
